In this assignment we had to pick a scene from one of our favorite film and conduct an analysis of mise-en-scene while considering the following questions:

What mood and/or atmosphere is created?

We then had to complete the same activity for a consumer branding advertisement and answer the following questions:

How was the product being represented?

What value is being transferred to the audience? (How is it suggest that their life will be enhanced by purchasing the product?)

Scene:
Where's Nat Scene | AVENGERS ENDGAME (2019) Sci-Fi, Movie CLIP HD (0:00-3:15)
Description- The scene starts off as Clint lays in the pool of water and gets onto his knees.
He opens his hand and finds the soul stone. He starts sobbing because he knew that Nat,
his best friend, sacrificed her life for the stone. The scene then transitions to the avengers
coming back from the time travel portal. Everyone is happy at first, but Clint falls to his
knees again and they ask where Nat is. The scene then goes to an outside area on a lake
where the avengers reject, grieve, and contemplate Nats death. Through all their pain, they
must come to accept the fact that she is not coming back.
There is a melancholy mood that fills the scenes. Once the characters come to find out
about the death of their friend, the characters express their sadness by their facial
expressions, body language and actions. The audience is encouraged to feel sympathy
towards the characters and their loss because not only did they lose a skilled avenger, but
they lost a friend. The mes en scene is mostly set by the actors and their portrayal of the
characters' reactions to their loss. However, concerning lighting, the set isn’t very bright
and cheerful; the scene seems very dull.

Description- The product shown in the advertisement is Poppi.
The product is described as something that you can always go for when you are feeling
indecisive. The advertisement portrays the product as a drink that has the perfect amount
of flavor and fizziness. The advertisement displays the value of the Poppi drink by really
focusing on the expressions of the actors before and after they have had the drink.
